Should you listen to coin investment advice ?

This is on par with when the can driver tells you to buy gold bars as an investment
Crypto-Bubble?

As our January newsletter goes out to you, the global crypto currency market is tanking, with all the major coins experiencing a major drop. However there has been a huge amount of talk in 2017 about the influence of blockchain technology, and this will almost certainly continue in 2018. Bitcoin will remain the ‘gold standard’ in the cryptocurrency market, although we expect 2018 will see the rise of the Alt-Currency market with alternate cryptocurrencies increasing in prominence.
Our view is that the current boom in the global crypto market feels similar to thedot.com bubble of 1999, although undoubtedly there were some huge tech companiesthat emerged after the hype died down. Quite recently, an initiative from several global banks, led by UBS, is looking at how blockchain technology can help speed the inter-bank rec process, called the Massive Autonomous Distributed Reconciliation program(Madrec).
Or is the current crypto-bubble similar to tulip mania of the seventeeth century, where there was actually very little intrinsic value behind the rapid increase in tulip valuation? Only time shall tell.
Let’s have a look at a few of the Alt-Currencies we think should make news in 2018, and potentially have some real intrinsic value and real-world application:
Why is Ethereum important?
Ethereum is kind of like the Linux of crypto. It’s sort of an open development platform that allows developers to use the platform for app development. And it’s also the platform that is the base for many other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum has faster transaction speed than Bitcoin, as essentially the ‘blocks’ can be created much faster. The ability of 3rd party applications to run on the Ethereum network is a big factor in this crypto-currency having utility.
Why is Ripple important?
Ripple has gained interest from big business, and specifically financial services firms have been exploring how to use Ripple for fast transactions with their blockchain technology. Ripple in the simplest context is a real-time payment system. It was developed by a few smart guys involved with Bitcoin from the early days, and these guys created something cool called The Interledger Protocol that allows a secure pathway for the exchange of money. Importantly, a lot of the big global banks like Ripple, so if you have big banks and corporates using Ripple for value-exchange, then Ripple and the affiliated XRP digital asset will get used by banks to allow customers to do fast, efficient money transfers.
Why is Dash important?
Dash is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, that was a fork from Bitcoin in 2014. It’s built on the same core code as Bitcoin but has virtually negligible transaction costs, and can be used as a very low cost method to pass cash from one person to another. Dash is short for Digital Cash, and claims to be the fastest and most efficient method to transfer digital cash through two unique features called PrivateSend and InstantSend, both of which basically send digital cash in a fast, private, low cost manner.
Why is LiteCoin important?
Think of LiteCoin as the silver to Bitcoin’s gold status. LiteCoin is similar to Dash in that it’s a peer-to-peer currency with virtually zero transaction costs. There will be many more LiteCoin vs Bitcoin in exitence so this makes for much faster transaction time, and processing time, and a faster hashrate. In short, LiteCoin is quite similar to Bitcoin as it’s built on the same code, but there will be lots more of them with a faster transaction time, so they will be a bit more useful than Bitcoin but probably less valuable.

Energy efficient coins

With all the latest news and going ons, I came to the conclusion that in the future there might be a backlash against power hungry coins like Bitcoin resulting in some national tax being levied on Bitcoin transactions (don’t worry too much about this , it’s just to explain where my mind was going).
So I thought this might mean LiteCoin would be a good long term investment as I’ve heard it’s more energy efficient. I did some googling and found this well written article:
https://www.ofnumbers.com/2018/08/26/how-much-electricity-is-consumed-by-bitcoin-bitcoin-cash-ethereum-litecoin-and-monero/
I was surprised to find LiteCoin , isn’t that much more energy efficient , due to the fact miners still end up using ASIC machines.
The article finishes by addressing some of the common counter arguments such as traditional systems also consume a lot of energy, and use of green energy. I strongly recommend reading it if you want to comment about those.
It does however focus on the energy cost after a coin or fiat has been created (I.e. cost of transactions and storage) and not the cost of producing the fiat. But cost of production is one one off cost anyway.
And it does not mention gold (which I imagine has a high production cost but cheaper transaction+storage costs vs. BTC).
Anyway thought I’d get the communities thought on all of this. I know a lot of us are emotionally attached to crypto and will rush to defend it but I im trying to anticipate if there might be a backlash in the future and if so which coins might be a good investment.
I’m curious to see how the author would rate Nano, which is kind of the conclusion I’m reaching here (all the nano shillers I’ve been deriding will rejoice to hear this)
Thoughts?

[ANN][ANDROID MINING][AIRDROP] NewEnglandcoin: Scrypt RandomSpike

New England
New England 6 States Songs: https://www.reddit.com/newengland/comments/er8wxd/new_england_6_states_songs/
NewEnglandcoin
Symbol: NENG
NewEnglandcoin is a clone of Bitcoin using scrypt as a proof-of-work algorithm with enhanced features to protect against 51% attack and decentralize on mining to allow diversified mining rigs across CPUs, GPUs, ASICs and Android phones.
Mining Algorithm: Scrypt with RandomSpike. RandomSpike is 3rd generation of Dynamic Difficulty (DynDiff) algorithm on top of scrypt.
1 minute block targets base difficulty reset: every 1440 blocks subsidy halves in 2.1m blocks (~ 2 to 4 years) 84,000,000,000 total maximum NENG 20000 NENG per block Pre-mine: 1% - reserved for dev fund ICO: None RPCPort: 6376 Port: 6377
NewEnglandcoin has dogecoin like supply at 84 billion maximum NENG. This huge supply insures that NENG is suitable for retail transactions and daily use. The inflation schedule of NengEnglandcoin is actually identical to that of Litecoin. Bitcoin and Litecoin are already proven to be great long term store of value. The Litecoin-like NENG inflation schedule will make NewEnglandcoin ideal for long term investment appreciation as the supply is limited and capped at a fixed number
Bitcoin Fork - Suitable for Home Hobbyists
NewEnglandcoin core wallet continues to maintain version tag of "Satoshi v0.8.7.5" because NewEnglandcoin is very much an exact clone of bitcoin plus some mining feature changes with DynDiff algorithm. NewEnglandcoin is very suitable as lite version of bitcoin for educational purpose on desktop mining, full node running and bitcoin programming using bitcoin-json APIs.
The NewEnglandcoin (NENG) mining algorithm original upgrade ideas were mainly designed for decentralization of mining rigs on scrypt, which is same algo as litecoin/dogecoin. The way it is going now is that NENG is very suitable for bitcoin/litecoin/dogecoin hobbyists who can not , will not spend huge money to run noisy ASIC/GPU mining equipments, but still want to mine NENG at home with quiet simple CPU/GPU or with a cheap ASIC like FutureBit Moonlander 2 USB or Apollo pod on solo mining setup to obtain very decent profitable results. NENG allows bitcoin litecoin hobbyists to experience full node running, solo mining, CPU/GPU/ASIC for a fun experience at home at cheap cost without breaking bank on equipment or electricity.

CPU Minable Coin Because of dynamic difficulty algorithm on top of scrypt, NewEnglandcoin is CPU Minable. Users can easily set up full node for mining at Home PC or Mac using our dedicated cheetah software.
Research on the first forked 50 blocks on v1.2.0 core confirmed that ASIC/GPU miners mined 66% of 50 blocks, CPU miners mined the remaining 34%.
NENG v1.4.0 release enabled CPU mining inside android phones.

Decentralization and Community Driven NewEnglandcoin is a decentralized coin just like bitcoin. There is no boss on NewEnglandcoin. Nobody nor the dev owns NENG.
We know a coin is worth nothing if there is no backing from community. Therefore, we as dev do not intend to make decision on this coin solely by ourselves. It is our expectation that NewEnglandcoin community will make majority of decisions on direction of this coin from now on. We as dev merely view our-self as coin creater and technical support of this coin while providing NENG a permanent home at ShorelineCrypto Exchange.

ASIC/GPU Mining Pools Warning to Big ASIC Miners Due to DynDiff Algo on top of Scrypt, solo mining is recommended for ASIC/GPU miners. Further more, even for mining pools, small mining pool will generate better performance than big NENG mining pool because of new algo v1.2.x post hard fork.
The set up configuration of NENG for scrypt pool mining is same as a typical normal scrypt coin. In other word, DynDiff on Scrypt algo is backward compatible with Scrypt algo. Because ASIC/GPU miners rely on CPU miners for smooth blockchain movement, checkout bottom of "Latest News" section for A WARNING to All ASIC miners before you decide to dump big ASIC hash rate into NENG mining.
(1) Original DynDiff Warning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5027091.msg48324708#msg48324708 (2) New Warning on RandomSpike Spike difficulty (244k) introduced in RandomSpike served as roadblocks to instant mining and provide security against 51% attack risk. However, this spike difficulty like a roadblock that makes big ASIC mining less profitable. In case of spike block to be mined, the spike difficulty immediately serve as base difficulty, which will block GPU/ASIC miners effectively and leave CPU cheetah solo miners dominating mining almost 100% until next base difficulty reset.

Boom BOOM! Dash Competitive Basket Index for Wednesday, 15 January, 2020. Dash went up 47% in 24hrs, and 121% in a week. We gained 15 ranks in 11 days and currently sit at #12. Knocking on the door of the top 10 again.
Well, that escalated quickly. If you live under a rock and didn’t notice, Dash went up 47% in a day, and 121% in a week. On 4 January, there were 26 crypto projects listed above us on CoinPaprika. Today there are 11. We gained 15 ranks in 11 days. The only thing we didn’t beat was Bitcoin SV. Rather than make fun of Craig Wright, I’m just going to ignore him for now.
The forums are buzzing trying to figure out why this happened. Certainly, Dash was heavily oversold. Maybe somebody finally looked at the code on the newly released Evolution platform and realized what a game changer it is. I have been asking that persistent question, why are we not beating the stuffing out of LiteCoin. Perhaps somebody with an enormous pile of money did the research and realized there is no good answer why we are not ranked above Litecoin. Who can say?

  1. Dash outperformed 10 of the 11 cryptos ranked above us (91%). The 30 day SMA* is 54.7%.
  2. Dash outperformed 10 of the 10 cryptos ranked below us (100%)(again, 11 days.) The 30 day SMA* is 57.7%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 20 of the top 21 cryptos (95%). The 30 day SMA* is 55.6%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance dropped a whopping 2.2% (22/10ths) to 65.2%.
  5. 18 of the top 21 crypto projects beat Bitcoin (86%).
  6. 19 of the top 22 crypto projects were in the green (86%).
* The 30 day SMA is the Simple Moving Average for the last 30 days. It is represented with the red line.
As always, this is not investment advise. This is presented for entertainment and educational purposes only. Do your own homework. Don’t trust some random guy on the internet. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.
^ Dash vs the tiny handful of coins ranked above us (11). We beat everything above us except SV, and SV is as fake as a 3 dollar bill.

^ Dash vs the 10 cryptos listed below us. We continue to beat them like a drum.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index of Dash vs the top 22 cryptos in the world. It looks like we broadly kicked their a$$.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Thursday, 19 March, 2020. We are not dead, and we are not a cat. Dash did very _very_ well today.
Dash screamed to the top of the charts today. We gained three ranks as well. We are not dead, and we are not a cat.
And I’m just going to keep pounding on the idea that we do just as many transactions as Litecoin, and the trend is that we will pass Litecoin (see chart below). We are more secure than LiteCoin (thanks ChainLocks!). We have optional on-chain trustless privacy (thanks PrivateSend!), litecoin doesn’t. We are faster than litecoin (thanks 2nd layer InstantSend!). Historically, we have far more innovations (widely copied I might add) than litecoin. Go ahead, make a list of everything LiteCoin has invented.
And we have far more active development today. Better governance, self funding, etc etc etc etc. And yet, litecoin has 4x our market cap, and is ranked 6th while we are at #20. This cannot be allowed. When the crypto market gains rationality, we will pass Litecoin…...mark my words. I’m not actually hating on Litecoin, there is room for lots of winners in the crypto sphere. Litecoin is not my enemy. But sooner or later, value has to reflect utility and usage.

  1. Dash outperformed 18 of the 19 cryptos listed above us on CoinPaprika (95% win rate). The 30 day SMA* is 30.0%
  2. Dash outperformed 10 of the 10 cryptos ranked below us (100% win rate). The 30 day SMA* is 33.0%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 28 of the top 29 cryptos (97% win rate). The 30 day SMA* is 31.9%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance gained 3/10’s to 63.7%
  5. 25 of the top 29 cryptos beat Bitcoin (86%).
  6. On the 7 day time frame, only 8 of the top 30 cryptos (27%) were in the green. Yes, Dash was leading the pack.
  7. But on the 24 hour time frame, 27 of the top 30 (90%) cryptos were in the green.
* The 30 day SMA is the Simple Moving Average for the last 30 days. It is represented with the red line. The blue line is the daily Dash performance based on the price change over a one week period. (win rate, i.e. how many competitors we beat expressed as a percent, not unlike a batting average.) As always, this is not investment advise. ^ Dash vs the 19 cryptos listed above us. I love the smell of rocket fuel in the morning.

^ Dash vs the 10 cryptos listed below us. 10 for 10.

^ Dash vs the top 29 cryptos in the world. It tends to be feast or famine with Dash. But today we feast.

^ Dash vs Litecoin transactions. Yes, I cherry picked the data to show the stress test for Dash. But even without that, it's obvious that we have caught Litecoin.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 5 January, 2020. Up, up and AWAY!

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 5 January, 2020. Up, up and AWAY!
If you haven’t noticed, Dash has done spectacularly well in the last week. I’m not going to go on and on about it, but it has been a painful and unpleasant thing to be the bearer of bad tidings for so long. But not today…
Dash gained 13% in the last 24 hours. From our low on Friday ($40.22) we have gained 22.6% ($49.32). And we jumped not one, but two ranks. The wonder child Mindol continues to drop like an anvil without a parachute. Plus, we’re only 27 million dollars behind Iota in market cap. It is not inconceivable we could jump two more ranks pretty soon.
It almost goes without saying that big spikes are fun and exciting, but accomplish nothing if they are not followed by consistent gains and performance. But, the Evolution/Dash platform is out on testnet now. Our harsh critics who yelled vaporware and scam don’t have a leg to stand on any more. Compare the transaction chart of Dash and LiteCoin below. Dash caught Litecoin, who is ranked sixth in marketcap and will soon pass them. And in terms of tech, features, real world use, innovation, dev team, etc, we cream Litecoin. We should be (at least) #5 in terms of market cap.
For the previous 7 day time frame:

  1. Dash outperformed 22 of the 24 coins ranked above us (92%). The 30 day SMA* is 37.0%.
  2. Dash outperformed 10 of the 10 coins ranked below us (100%). The 30 day SMA* is 35.7%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 32 of the top 34 coins (94%). The 30 day SMA* is 36.5%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance remained unchanged at 67.4%.
  5. 13 of the top 34 crypto projects beat Bitcoin (38%)
  6. 22 of the top 35 crypto projects were in the green (63%).

^ All time transaction chart for Dash vs LiteCoin. Why is LiteCoin #6 again? They have innovated......nothing.

^ Dash vs the 24 cryptos listed above us. Looking strong.

^ Dash vs the 10 cryptos listed below us. If there was a way to beat more than 100% of the 10 below club, we'd have done it today.

^ The Broad Competitive Index tells the same story. We creamed everything and everybody, almost.

Dash continues to dominate the crypto sector with a big stick. The CBI data reflects that. Back in 10th spot.

Dash continues to dominate the crypto sector with a big stick. The CBI data reflects that. Back in 10th spot.
Business as usual. Dash continues to dominate the sector with a big stick. And we’re back in the top 10. All the moving averages are well over the healthy 50% mark. We beat everything except Bitcoin SV. When Satoshi’s Treasure starts moving again, and Craig starts paying his bills with it, I will start respecting SV. LiteCoin is a mere 3 ranks above us, and in technical merit, active development, real world use, etc etc etc, LiteCoin does not compare well to Dash. We need to be above LiteCoin. Note the graph comparing LiteCoin transactions to Dash transactions below.

  1. Dash outperformed 8 of the 9 cryptos ranked above us (89%). The 30 day SMA* is 57.1%.
  2. Dash outperformed 10 of the 10 cryptos ranked below us (100%)(again, 12 days.) The 30 day SMA* is 60.7%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 18 of the top 19 cryptos (95%). The 30 day SMA* is 58.3%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance gained back 6/10ths) to 65.8%.
  5. 15 of the top 19 crypto projects beat Bitcoin (79%).
  6. 18 of the top 20 crypto projects were in the green (90%).
^ Dash transactions vs LiteCoin transactions. Clearly, we have caught them, and we regularly surpass them. Can't wait to see the chart in 6 months.

^ Dash vs the 9 cryptos listed above us. The blue line of our win rate appears to be going down, but that is something of an artifact. If you beat 19 out of 20 competitors, that's a 95% win rate. If you beat 8 out of 9 competitors that's \"only\" an 89% win rate.

^ Dash vs the 10 coins listed below us. Dash continues to be flatlined at 100% win rate. Usually \"flatlined\" means you're dead. In this case it means everybody else is dead.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index tells the same story. Dash continues to have a phenomenal win rate and the 30 day moving average is starting to look zoomy. i.e. the rate of change or slope is steeper than it has ever been since I started keeping score.

If you'd like to take part click here https://gleam.io/MwMtO/komodos-20-infographic-contest-5000-kmd-grand-prize and share this post with your friends.

Your Goals

  • Create a high-quality infographic that illustrates the genesis of our platform, the working tech that has been created and how Komodo has been built differently, and deliberately, from the very beginning to ensure security, scalability and interoperability. This is why we refer to the architecture, because Komodo was designed to overcome common problems like congestion, governance and attacks that other platforms did not foresee or prevent, from the beginning. This is Komodo DNA.
  • Share your submission far and wide and encourage your friends and followers to vote for you.
  • Encourage feedback, ask questions and make your infographic the best that it can be.

Our Criteria to Judge

Please note that upvotes and shares are not the only criteria we'll use to judge winners. While useful, we will value creativity, good questions and discussion on Reddit highly. When sharing your posts you will score more highly if people comment, provide feedback and are engaged.
  • How well the infographic conveys our working tech, it's core concepts and plans to build on top of it.
  • How well the infographic illustrates our story, purpose and conveys our tech so that it's easy to understand.
  • Constructive discussion, questions and feedback on Reddit that lead to improvement.
  • Sentiment and comments generated across all our social media. This will not include vanity metrics like likes or shares.
  • Upvotes on Reddit for the author's submission post ONLY. All votes will be counted (i.e. doesn't matter which week they were made).
  • Retweets of the submission in our master thread ONLY. Include your handle and a cover image in your submission. This means if you promote yourself on Twitter you ought to promote the tweet with your work in it.

How do you win?

You may submit up to two infographics. By submitting an infographic, you understand Komodo may post and use your submissions on our digital channels during and after the contest. Each infographic must have it's own post.
  • Create a post on Komodo's subreddit using the 'infographic contest' flair.
  • Add the infographic image into the Reddit post.
  • Include your Twitter handle.
  • Include a social media friendly cover image for us to use when we tweet your submission out.
  • Post a link to your submission post here in the comments for all to see.

Contest Timeline Guide (these dates indicative and are subject to change).

  • 7th September. Announcement. If you're reading this on Reddit before the big announcement then well done! You have two extra days before this is announced on Friday.
  • 10th - 21st September. Research and Questions. We will promote the contest, invite questions and requests for resources, in the comments of this master Reddit post (because this means all information and good questions will be visible to all participants).
  • 22nd September. Draft Submissions. Creatives to submit their draft infographics on Reddit. All submissions need to have their own post and then be linked to in the comments of this master post. This is important to remember!
  • 24th - 30th September. Feedback. A period of one week will be devoted to promoting the submissions and asking the community and team to give you feedback.
  • 1st October. Final Submissions.
  • 2nd - 8th October. Voting. A week of promoting your work and at the end we'll count votes, consider feedback and pick our winners.
  • 15th October. Winners Declared. The final decision by judges. Votes and community feedback counts towards judging but do not have final say.

25/09/18 - First Round of Feedback

Infographics should use graphical design elements to visually represent the Komodo Architecture Story found here: https://komodoplatform.com/komodo-platform-a-brief-overview/ included in our ‘required reading’. There’s also a bullet point aid: https://medium.com/@benohanlon/bullet-point-aid-to-help-you-the-history-of-komodos-architecture-dced35b29965 you may find useful.
  • We want to stress that the infographic ought to focus on the Architecture story. In the first round we've found many have focused on the five pillars which is a part of it but not the focus.
  • Copy should be short and concise and not dominate the infographic. The idea is to simplify the story and not to copy and paste directly from the story.
  • Colour Palette - avoid heavy usage of the old KMD green and yellow-orange. Would prefer usage of the interim KMD colour palette.
  • Recommended fonts: Montseratt, Roboto, Open Sans, Helvetica, or Arial.
  • Graphical - Imagery should complement the associated copy. Diagrams are encouraged in place of simple icons to explain more complex technology concepts.
  • Interim KMD colour palette
Interim KMD Colour Palette
If you’ve not been included in the first round it’s because the submission hadn’t been made when the team reviewed. Don’t worry though because we’re organising hangouts and further feedback to help.
  • #001 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by thesudio. There’s a lot of good points made, however, these would work better if there is a clear narrative and flow to the information being presented. Otherwise, it can be overwhelming and confusing to the reader. The #1 objective is to visually depict the architecture story and how KMD is redefining blockchain platform architecture.
  • #002 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by thesudio. We like that there is a clear structure and clear messaging aligned to each of the 5 pillars. However, the infographic should be focused on telling the architecture story vs the pillars.
  • #003 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by VolsenVols. Love how you’ve incorporated our existing graphic design elements into the infographic. This is heading in the right direction and the level of copy and content are well balanced. It would be nice to align this closer to the architecture story and to expand on the different layers of our technology using the same style.
  • #004 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by dexter_laabo. Needs to tell the architecture story. This looks more like it took information from our current website. “Anonymous” is not a key aspect of our technology that we’re focusing on.
  • #005 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by savandra. The visuals are strong but the narrative could be stronger. It would be nice to align this closer to the architecture story and to expand on the different layers of our technology using the same style.
  • #006 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by VolsenVols. Team prefers the other submission style in entry #003.
  • #007 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by cryptol1. Doesn’t depict the architecture narrative. Inaccurately describes cross-chain tech as “proprietary”. Simplification has the wrong messaging associated, should be white-label focused. This is considered more of a graphics versus an infographic. Needs to be more comprehensive.
  • #008 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by pacosenda. We like the unique design style and approach taken. Doesn’t follow the architecture narrative. Should be expanded out as it is a bit short on content with no clear flow or narrative.
  • #009 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by jeanetteLine. Great level of detail and thought on the layout and content. Doesn’t, however, cover the architecture story. Would be preferred if the design direction reflects interim colour and style vs. legacy KMD. The roadmap should be avoided. Looks like they borrowed more from the website than the guidelines.
  • #010 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by Meyse. Very creative way to explain and layout the content. This could be expanded out more to encompass the entire architecture story. Cross-chain verifications/smart contracts, blockchain bridging need to be incorporated in.
  • #011 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by Brenny431. Follows the 5 pillars versus the architecture story. Would prefer stronger visuals and design elements.
  • #012 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by ProofDraw. Design elements are good but need to follow architecture story versus 5 pillars.
  • #013 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by sayonara_girl. Needs to follow the architecture story.
  • #014 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by Limiter02. Good thought has gone into the copy, however, there’s way too much of it. Would prefer stronger visuals and utilizing a more visual storytelling approach. Doesn’t follow the architecture story. Remove the lizard.
  • #015 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by piptothemoon. Great thought into visually representing key points. Needs to be expanded out to incorporate the architecture story, but this is heading in the right direction from a visual storytelling POV.
  • #016 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by thecryptofoundation. Love the timeline approach, and mostly followed the guidelines and architecture story. Also, like the incorporation of accomplishments at the end. Would like to get the stock imagery used to reflect our interim colour palette. Not all visuals match what is being represented in the copy.
  • #017 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by jsteneros. As discussed in the Zoom call, this graphic is really solid but a little heavy on the copy. Would be good to see more visualizations of the info. This graphic hits on some of the important messages (e.g. Komodo is built differently from other blockchain platforms and solves many of the issues that first-gen platforms are struggling with) but it would be great if there was more information about Komodo’s architecture and how Komodo is different from other platforms.
  • #018 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by gravigocrypto. This one was also discussed in the Zoom call. Outstanding visuals and overall design. The info follows the architecture story well but could be stronger if the 3 layers of Komodo’s architecture were tied together into one, coherent visual. It’s a challenging task but that’s part of the contest : )
  • #019 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by PacoSenda. This is a really creative infographic, which is great! However, we’d really like to see the visuals a bit more in line with fonts and color palette described above in the “First Round of Feedback” section. Also, as with the feedback for many of the infographic submissions, sticking to the Komodo architecture story would be best.
  • #020 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by emmanmalaman. The visuals are pretty cool but this one misses most of our core messaging. It would be much stronger if it followed the architecture story and touched on the info provided in this post. There’s definitely potential here but it needs some work.
  • #021 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by immimidada. The colors and visuals here are spot-on. It’s also really great that it sets up the problem and then presents the Komodo solution. However, the problem and solution aren’t defined exactly the way we’d like. Check out the architecture narrative to learn more, and try to follow that story a bit more closely.
  • #022 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by mohitgfx3. This one is a bit heavy on the KMD logos. We’re really hoping to see a visualization of Komodo’s infrastructure architecture. As with the feedback for many of the infographics, it would be best to re-read Komodo’s architecture story and try to stick to that as much as possible. Using images from the current website is also not a great approach, as we’re preparing to launch a new site in the coming months.
  • #023 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by u/sayonara_girl. Some of the visuals are cool! It’s missing the narrative we’re looking for. In general, less copy and more visual storytelling would improve this graphic a lot. We’d like to see a smooth, linear flow of information. Take another look at the architecture story and try to follow that narrative.
  • #024 Infographic Link // Reddit Post Link by brunopugens. This one follows the narrative well! But it’s a little heavy on the copy. It would be much stronger if the architecture was displayed visually, rather than explained with text. Also, the design is cool but it’s difficult to read b/c the perspective of the text is skewed. It’s a really cool idea but might be better to put the text flat for the sake of readability and clarity.

We hosted a round of live feedback sessions via Zoom. The recording is here:

Why are Coinbase and the Winklevoss Brothers suppressing the price of Tezos?

Because that is exactly what they are doing by not listing it on their exchanges and if taken at their word that they were all large purchasers and believers during the ICO, then one would assume that they have an interest in it doing well vs burying it.
There really only leaves one logical answer....Because they are baking the shit out of what they hold now knowing that when it does get listed and the price takes off, they will be minting money. This however, is completely against the spirt of why cryptocurrency exists. It is not supposed to be centralized and abused like this, and that's what they are doing by not listing it on the American exchanges and hoarding it for themselves.
Like it or not, Tezos is never going to get off of training wheels until it is listed on Coinbase and Gemini. And for anyone saying this is just greed based and for financial reasons, that isn't true. Of course there is economic incentive for all of us, but you need to look at the larger picture and see why a rise in price and movement is so important. And that is when it gets opened up and the price starts to go up, it is going to attract more people to all of the great things about Tezos.
The Tezos Community is awesome, there is no question about that, but if you want to play in the arena, then you need to be in the arena, and we aren't. Ryan Jesperson, your pace of doing things resembles a turtle trying to travel from California to NYC. Pick it up because you are running the risk of being overtaken and that is negligence if Tezos current capabilities and features are being slow rolled. And that is not making sure t's are crossed and i's are dotted, you can't always use that as your go to excuse.
And enough of this bullshit from this little cadre of people who claim to know that we are working with exchanges and doing things a certain way. Why is that info being kept private??? Again if you want a truly open and transparent project, then there shouldn't be this orchestrated collusion on why we aren't on those exchanges right now.
Prove me wrong, tell me I am wrong and there is some other reason that makes sense why this isn't listed, but don't cite some stupid ambulance chasing lawsuit because people are waking up today in the largest money market and able to buy Bitcoin, LiteCoin, Ether, Ripple and others. If all of our stuff is better, then why are we not on there yet, and WHAT IS THE PLAN AND INFO FOR GETTING ON IT?
Im sure I will get slammed and downvoted but I know there are many people who want to know this as well, so I will gladly take the hit so I will again ask this direct question and hope one of you can give an answer.
RYAN JESPERSON, BRIAN ARMSTRONG, WINKLEVOSS TWINS....Why are we not listed on Coinbase and Gemini, and what are the plans moving forward for being listed? Until there is a valid reason given, then there is no option other than the first answer...that you are suppressing the price on purpose for your own gain.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Saturday, 14 December, 2019. The win rates today were so-so, but........
Nothing special today for win rates. But not terrible either. It’s always fun to beat Bitcoin. All three moving averages stayed the same or move up a bit. And check out our all time transaction chart against LiteCoin. Neck and neck I tell you. Why are we not creaming LiteCoin and BitCoin Cash, and Bitcoin SV???
For the previous 7 day time frame:

  1. Dash outperformed 10 of the 23 coins ranked above us (44%). The 30 day SMA* is 42.1%.
  2. Dash outperformed 3 of the 10 coins ranked below us (30%). The 30 day SMA* is 35.0%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 13 of the top 33 coins (40%). The 30 day SMA* is 39.8%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance dropped a10th to 66.1%.
  5. 25 of the top 33 crypto projects beat Bitcoin (76%)
  6. 8 of the top 33 crypto projects were in the green (24%)
* The 30 day SMA is the Simple Moving Average for the last 30 days. It is represented with the red line.
As always, this is not investment advise. This is presented for entertainment and educational purposes only. Do your own homework. Don’t trust some rando guy on the internet. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.

^ You want use and adoption? Dash's transaction rate is now every bit as good as LiteCoin, the #6 cryptocurrency in the world.

^ Dash vs Bitcoin Cash, our closest competitor. Close race, and we're gaining on them. Bitcoin Cash is the #4 Cryptocurrency in the world, and Dash is a more secure and innovative chain.

^ Dash vs the 23 crypto projects listed above us. Today makes another higher low. But we need to make a higher high, or this is just a time out before the long ugly down trend continues.

^ Dash vs the 10 coins listed below us. When we start beating this group routinely at 60-80% win rates, you'll know we're on the move.

^ Dash vs the top 33 crypto projects in the world. Same same. We need a higher high, otherwise this is just a delaying action.

Long live decentralized bitcoin(!) A reading list

Newbs might not know this, but bitcoin recently came out of an intense internal drama. Between July 2015 and August 2017 bitcoin was attacked by external forces who were hoping to destroy the very properties that made bitcoin valuable in the first place. This culminated in the creation of segwit and the UASF (user activated soft fork) movement. The UASF was successful, segwit was added to bitcoin and with that the anti-decentralization side left bitcoin altogether and created their own altcoin called bcash. Bitcoin's price was $2500, soon after segwit was activated the price doubled to $5000 and continued rising until a top of $20000 before correcting to where we are today.
During this drama, I took time away from writing open source code to help educate and argue on reddit, twitter and other social media. I came up with a reading list for quickly copypasting things. It may be interesting today for newbs or anyone who wants a history lesson on what exactly happened during those two years when bitcoin's very existence as a decentralized low-trust currency was questioned. Now the fight has essentially been won, I try not to comment on reddit that much anymore. There's nothing left to do except wait for Lightning and similar tech to become mature (or better yet, help code it and test it)
In this thread you can learn about block sizes, latency, decentralization, segwit, ASICBOOST, lightning network and all the other issues that were debated endlessly for over two years. So when someone tries to get you to invest in bcash, remind them of the time they supported Bitcoin Unlimited.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 8 September, 2019. Yesterday was amazing. Today was better.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 8 September, 2019. Yesterday was amazing. Today was better.
Yesterday was amazing. Today was better. 30 day average starting to get dragged upwards again.
Long term outlook: Do banks suddenly care about the rank and file? Nope. Do shady governments suddenly respect the wealth and property and privacy of their citizens? Nope. Are stupid dictators less likely to attempt to inflate their way out of the latest emergency? Are there still 2 or 3 Billion people with virtually no banking services? Yes, yes there are. Can you easily send money to Venezuela or Zimbabwe through the legacy banking system without paying an arm and a leg? No, you cannot.
For the previous 7 day period:
  1. Dash outperformed 11 of the 15 coins ranked above us (73%). The 30 day SMA is 41%.
  2. Dash outperformed 9 of the 10 coins ranked below us (90%). The 30 day SMA is 48%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 20 of the top 25 coins (80%). The 30 day SMA is 44%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance dropped 7/10ths to 69.2%.
  5. 3 of the top 25 coins beat Bitcoin (12%).
As always, this is not investment advise. Do your own homework. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.

^ Dash versus the 15 coins listed above us. 30 day average turning up a bit. Still needs follow through.

^ Dash versus the 10 coins listed below us. More up. Up = good.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index of Dash vs the top 25 coins. Dash still looking strong.

^ Dash versus LiteCoin transactions. Note the cursor is sitting at one year ago. Litecoin 28,000, Dash 7,000.

Now look at the cursor on the present day, LiteCoin still at 28,000, Dash at 16,000. We are eating their lunch, the world just hasn't quite recognized that fact yet and adjusted our marketcap.
Never trust some random dude on the internet. Go look at the charts for yourself. Make other comparisons. Get educated. https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-ltc-dash.html#log&1y

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Friday, 18 October, 2019. Meh....sideways. But sideways is not down. Check out the bottom graph of active addresses. Super bullish (long term) for Dash.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Friday, 18 October, 2019. Meh....sideways. But sideways is not down. Check out the bottom graph of active addresses. Super bullish (long term) for Dash.
Meh…..sideways. But sideways is not down. None of the 7 day competitive indices were above the 50% mark (bad). 2 of the 3 indices were above the moving average (decent). The 24 hour price change data tells us three things: 1. Everybody got whupped with the big red ugly stick. 2. Dash once again got off relatively easy, beating 13 of the 17 coins listed above us. Winning by not losing as bad as everybody else. 3. The 24 hour data is notoriously fickle, so we put limited trust there.
For the previous 7 day time frame:
  1. Dash outperformed 8 of the 17 coins ranked above us (47%). The 30 day SMA* is 38.3%.
  2. Dash outperformed 3 of the 10 coins ranked below us (30%). The 30 day SMA* is 36.3%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 11 of the top 27 coins (41%). The 30 day SMA* is 37.5%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance remained unchanged at 65.0%.
  5. 18 of the top 27 coins beat Bitcoin (66.7%) including Dash.
  6. 10 of the top 27 cryptos were in the green (37%) not including Dash.
^ Dash vs the 17 coins listed above us. Not bad, not great, boring cornflakes I guess.

^ Dash vs the 10 coins listed below us. Decision time. Dash should pop back up above the moving average in the next day or two. Yet another cliff hanger.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index of Dash versus the top 27 crypto projects in the world. Back above the moving average, barely. Decision time.

^ Active address of BitCoin, LiteCoin and Dash. We are gradually catching Bitcoin, and have essentially already caught Litecoin. In every meaningful measure of real world use, we are at least as good as LiteCoin, so we should be rapidly catching up to LiteCoin in terms of total market cap. The only reason we are not is an information gap. We can solve that.
